I just want to share this photo of my car...

That is gorgeous! How do you like it? I still long after a Boostang every once and a while sitting in traffic in my BRZ (they’re all over the place where I am).

What a coincidence! I too would also like to share a photo of your car.

That’s a damn good looking machine and pic!

Awesome ain’t it!

It really is. Love the colour on it.

I love it. The BRZ was on my list when I was buying, but something just drew me in to this car. The ergonomics are great, the power is good, and despite the potential voiding of my warranty I love fiddling with it.

Thanks!

That’s awesome. I am fighting the urge to modify the BRZ. I want to do springs, wheels and an axleback but funds must be diverted elsewhere at the moment unfortunately.
What mods have you done to it aside from the springs?

upper and lower strut brace, COBB stage 1 tune.
I like being the lone ecoboost at autocross among the miatas and BRZs.

considering how unpopular Blue seems to be on cars these days, everyone loves the blue on this mustang. I say every auto maker should have some awesome non-gray color in their lineup. Make a blue car, a yellow car, an orange car, hell, anything except black, white and silver...

Gorgeous car. You posted this at a bad time to. I’m fighting to get a Boss or a 15+ GT PP and as a few hours ago I’ve started warming up to the 15's more. Roush axlebacks, Ford Performance Power Pack 2 and a decent set of tires will make the Boss look tame in terms of performance as well. At this point I’m probably just going to keep my car forever while I constantly argue with myself.

Man, I shouldn’t have looked at the MAP parts website. For $10k, you can roughly double your horsepower.

yep!

Goddamn that color looks spectacular. I think I’d have a first year S550 in Deep Impact Blue, but you make a good case for this.

I almost made a deal on a Deep Impact Blue 2015 with the 50th anniversary trim, but the dealer screwed it up.

Well, you ended up with a hell of a good looking car, in any case. I don’t generally care for any new models, but I want a DIB 5.0 something fierce.
![]() 03/28/2017 at 02:04 |

Of course at that point, might as well have gotten the GT ;)
![]() 03/28/2017 at 03:52 |

Also true.
I’m not a straight line guy. I like corners. While the current generation GT can corner, all I ever hear from those guys is how fast they are in the 1/4. I don’t care about that. So when it comes down to it, I’m never going to go for a turbo swap, or doubling the HP. Small power gains are great combined with better grip and driver training...

It’s not like the EB is slow, it’s properly fast with a tune. A GT is faster, sure, but how fast do you really need to go in the straights?
![]() 03/28/2017 at 08:58 |

That is absolutely gorgeous!
![]() 03/28/2017 at 08:59 |

According to the GT guys, faster...

It’s no Ford GT, but It’ll do.

Most definitely!!

Is it bad that I almost want a GT only to not have to put up with asshole GT owners?
I love my EB, it’s a fantastic car. I test drove a GT out of curiosity and other than the noise I didn’t see the need for it. GT350 is a different story, but still too expensive. But it’s getting old to go on the various facebook pages and see GT owners trashing the Ecoboost.
![]() 03/28/2017 at 09:11 |

I would say yes. I just think the mustang GT is too “raw” if that makes any sense. It’s like they forgot to finish some of it. I’m doing all I can to confuse people with the turbo and blow-off noise coming from a Mustang.

I like the GT and I’m sure if I had bought one instead I wouldn’t have looked back, but for everyone that says “why not just get the GT?” over the Ecoboost I feel like someone should be saying “why not get the GT350?” over the GT. The GT350 is a special car whereas the GT compared to the EB is just a bigger motor shoved into the same car.

I would love to see someone do a take on “what would a modern SVO look like?”
![]() 03/28/2017 at 14:36 |
|
A modern SVO would be a GT350 with the 3.5 Ecoboost out of the GT.
![]() 03/28/2017 at 16:29 |
|
“SVO engineers opted to pass over the venerable production 5.0 liter V-8 in lieu of an updated, turbocharged, and stronger version of Ford’s 2.3 liter inline four , originally used in the Pinto and Ford Mustang II .”
If the Focus is the modern Pinto, then I’m saying the 2.3 is the right engine for an SVO.
![]() 03/28/2017 at 16:45 |

Right, but I don’t think you could really make the 2.3 faster than the 5.0 today. At least not while maintaining a reasonable street car. That’s why IMO the modern equivalent would be 3.5EB riding on a lightened GT350 chassis so that it becomes the fastest mustang.
